The masterminds behind our award nominated development

We sat down with BLOCC Interiors, the masterminds behind The Bollo Collection’s new show home, to find out more about their creative choices for the development, and discover just what makes it so special…

What did you set out to achieve with your design of The Bollo Collection show home?

The Bollo Collection is an exciting development. While every project brings its own set of unique challenges and inspirations, partnering with BE WEST allowed us to embark on a journey together to create a design scheme that perfectly resonated with the young professionals’ profile and the vibrant café culture and creativity of Chiswick.

The sustainable design approach for The Bollo Collection aligned seamlessly with our own commitment to sustainability. By incorporating sustainable elements into our design, we aimed to convey a message of ecoconsciousness and inspire others to embrace sustainable living.

Tell us a little more about the design for The Bollo Collection…?

The design process for The Bollo Collection was driven by a passion for sustainability and a deep appreciation for the local area of West London. Inspired by the vibrant energy and eco-conscious spirit of the neighbourhood, our team crafted a design that seamlessly blended modern aesthetics with eco-friendly principles. The local area is thriving with artisans and young professionals who are living life to the full and desire an interior that is current, whilst in the same breath in line with today’s strong sustainable values. We wanted to capture this and deliver a relatable scheme where the vibrancy and values of the area shone through into the design.

Our focus is on optimising space to align with modern living, recognising the importance of work-from-home areas and creating inviting entertainment spaces. We aim to strike a balance between functionality and relatability, ensuring that the design maximises the potential of the space. Additionally, we prioritise the creation of bedroom spaces that offer a haven of tranquillity, providing a peaceful retreat within the home. By considering the needs and aspirations of those who will inhabit the space, we are able to craft designs that harmonise with their lifestyle and create a sense of belonging.

What sort of sustainable materials did you use?

The thought process behind The Bollo Collection was to create a space that not only exuded style but also embraced sustainable living. We drew inspiration from local zero waste shops like Planet Organic, which embodies the essence of eco-consciousness and responsible consumption.

By integrating sustainable materials, such as reclaimed wood and recycled textiles, we aimed to reduce our environmental impact and promote a circular economy. Our team carefully sourced furnishings and decor items from local artisans, supporting the community and reducing carbon footprint. We also prioritised options that could be recycled or repurposed at the end of their lifespan, minimising the ecological footprint of the show apartment.
